This is quite messy to eat if you do not find the right lettuce leaves as the stem would snap as you roll to eat them and the filling will slip out.  But I can tell you it is worth the embaressment and the mess as you literally stuff your face with these tasty wraps. The best lettuce is the Romaine one if you find it available.

You can use turkey or chicken mince if you prefer! Still delicious!

    Step 1

Heat some oil in a pan and saute the onion and garlic until soft. Add the minced meat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon and cook until it starts to brown. Whilst cooking, add a teaspoon of minced ginger, a teaspoon of Chinese Five Spice Mix and a tablespoon of Sriracha Sauce. Season with salt and pepper.

    Step 2

Throw in the diced red capsicum as well as the shredded carrots and mix them in. Add a dash of soy sauce and combine all. Cook just for about a minute as the veg taste better still slightly crunchy. At the end throw in the peanuts and the spring onions. Drizzle with a little sesame oil.

    Step 3

Place the leaves on serving plates and top each one with meat and serve.

Hi, I'm Jacqui, creator of The Blender and Senza G. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2012 and since then, gluten free cooking has become a passion of mine. I just love food, experimenting and creating new gluten free recipes or re-inventing old favorite ones so I can still enjoy what I used to love before. Being Celiac makes cooking more challenging but with loads of patience, intensive research and a burning desire to learn more and more, living the Gluten Free lifestyle has become much much easier. My mission has been that gluten free food should taste good. Gluten Free does not mean taste free and I will keep on working to discover new ways of making it even better! ❤️
