Brutti ma Buoni are delicious Italian cookies and literally translated as Ugly but Good. Quick and easy to make and bake. They are also great as home made gifts!

    Step 1

Using a handheld mixer, beat the egg whites in a bowl until soft peaks form. Start adding the sugar slowly whilst still mixing until it becomes glossy. There is no need to beat till it is stiff. Add the chopped nuts and combine well.

    Step 2

Put this mixture in a non stick pan and cook over a very low flame for about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture starts to thicken. Remove from the heat.

    Step 3

With the help of two spoons, place tablespoons of this mix onto a baking paper lined pan.

    Step 4

Place in a preheated oven at 160 C and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the cookies start to brown.

    Step 5

Place in a cello bag, add some raffia ribbon and a tag .... and you've got a lovely home made gift that anyone with a sweet tooth would seriously enjoy!

Hi, I'm Jacqui, creator of The Blender and Senza G. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2012 and since then, gluten free cooking has become a passion of mine. I just love food, experimenting and creating new gluten free recipes or re-inventing old favorite ones so I can still enjoy what I used to love before. Being Celiac makes cooking more challenging but with loads of patience, intensive research and a burning desire to learn more and more, living the Gluten Free lifestyle has become much much easier. My mission has been that gluten free food should taste good. Gluten Free does not mean taste free and I will keep on working to discover new ways of making it even better! ❤️
